released February 17, 2017

Recorded by Stephen Gilchrist & mixed by Nick Howiantz Jnr. at Brixton Hill Studios London except for Evil Twin which was recorded and produced by Jon Clayton at Onecat Studios, London.

Sounds and instruments engineered by various people at various locations:

Jon Clayton at Onecat Studios, London, Neil Gilchrist at G Music, Surrey, Smiley at Sunshine Studios, Hook. Stuffy Hospital, Brixton & with Todd Griffin at Shiny Little Studio, Brooklyn, NYC. All songs recorded between now and then.

I should have kept notes on who and where. I should have paid more attention at school. I should have been a better person.

All instruments performed by Stephen Gilchrist except on occasion he was lucky enough to get these people to help him:

Susan Bixley - Timpani on High Horse and My Sister.
Caroline Cheshire - Backing Vocals on A Bear With Furniture, Assembly, Car Song, Captains of Convenience, Evil Twin, High Horse & Shorts
Jon Clayton - Hammond Organ & Synths on High Horse. Bass on Shorts.
Jim Dare - Guitar on My Sister
Ben Parker - Guitar on Light Ale
Jimmy Sims - Bass on High Horse & Light Ale
Jack Straker - Bass on Evil Twin and Baritone on A Bear With Furniture.
Owen Thomas - Guitar on Evil Twin
Jonathan Van Hyurgh - executively produced his own shouting during Assembly.

...also a small mouse got into the mouse organ during Gloria to spin an arpeggio he found in there and he just WOULD NOT shut up so we had no choice but to leave him in. He died shortly afterwards and we held a small tea in his honour.

Stephen EvEns Greater London, UK

Armed with a battered guitar, a casiotone and a few pedals Stephen presents songs that mix the likes of Yo La Tengo & Ivor Cutler with broken friendships and human error. ... more
